Dairy Queen closes total of 37 outlets in one state just weeks apart – find full list

Dairy Queen has announced that it is closing 12 more outlets in just one state after 25 locations were shuttered last month. It comes after JCPenney shoppers were given a warning as store closures were announced .

The fast-food chain revealed that a dozen more restaurants were set to cease trading as the casual dining industry faces a relative ‘bloodbath’. Dairy Queen confirmed that the closures had all taken place in Texas, which has a close affinity with the brand , bringing the total to 37. The fast food chain has joined the long list of brands forced to cut their outlets amid tough financial conditions . Others include Macy’s, which said it would close 150 branches over the next few years, and craft company Joann, which told shoppers it was going out of business altogether .

This means that residents in the Lone Star State may now have to go the extra mile to find their favorite Dairy Queen Blizzards . A Dairy Queen spokesperson told the US Sun : “I can confirm that 12 DQ restaurants in Texas owned by a single franchise owner closed during the past week. These closures are related to closures last month by the same franchise owner.” It comes as Macy’s is just one of many stores closing down as retailers face a ‘bloodbath’ …
