WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — There was a fire at the WSU Tech City Center campus Monday evening. The fire involved a lithium battery. It happened around 7 p.m. at the campus in the 300 block of S. Grove.
A WSU Tech spokesperson says the lithium battery was on a workbench in one of the automotive labs. No classes were scheduled in that lab then, but students were in other areas of the building.
An employee saw the fire and responded immediately with safety procedures, promptly evacuating people from the building and notifying authorities.
