Everything to Know About Las Vegas’s First H-Mart, Opening in Just a Few Weeks

Two years after hanging a banner up on the wall of a former thrift store, the first H-Mart in Las Vegas is finally going to open later this month. For years, Las Vegans have been clamoring for H-Mart to expand to Nevada and rumors have long circulated online about prospective locations in Summerlin or on Blue Diamond Road. Now, its home at 2620 South Decatur Boulevard near Sahara Avenue has replaced its temporary signage with a permanent marquee, has taken over the adjacent strip mall space to house a food hall, and posted signs on the door — of its grand opening on Thursday, April 24.

The first H-Mart in Nevada will offer an extensive selection of traditional Asian, international, and everyday essential food items in a store that occupies 54,552 square feet. The Korean grocery store has long had a loyal following but more recently became a household name — even in Las Vegas — for its appearance in Michelle Zauner’s memoir “Crying in H Mart” and for its prevalence on TikTok in videos where creators shop for popsicles convincingly shaped like peaches, sashimi lunches, and shopping hauls of assorted ramen packs.

In addition to its viral snacks, H-Mart Las Vegas will offer grocery staples, beauty and health products, a refrigerated section of marinaded meat for Korean barbecue, a prepared foods section for banchan (side dishes) and kimchi, a section for kitchen tools and appliances, and a fresh seafood counter. H-Mart confirmed that the new store will open at 10 a.m. on April 24 with giveaway promotions throughout the day. Starting April 25, the store will be open daily from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.

Popular Las Vegas Asian restaurants and brands from throughout the country will occupy the food hall. The South Korean chain Paik’s Noodle, known for its jjajangmyeon noodles tossed in black bean sauce and jjamppong spicy seafood noodles, will make its Vegas debut, as will the California-based tteokbokki restaurant Jopok Topokki. Moobongri Soondae’s second Vegas location will sell spicy soondae soup, super tender bossam pork, and crunchy kimchi. Bb.q Chicken will open its fourth Las Vegas outlet, and Tiger Sugar will sell brown sugar boba at its third outpost. Hanmo Tofu, a silken tofu stew restaurant, and Oh-K Dog & Egg Toast will round out the food hall offerings…
