Woman arrested after burglary, fell to ground after trying to escape via cable line

MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – A woman in Wisconsin was arrested after she attempted a robbery of a home on Tuesday afternoon, where she reportedly tried to escape by climbing a rooftop and pole.

According to a Madison Police Department release, officers responded to a burglary report in the 300 block of Phlox Drive around 1:16 p.m. on Monday. The caller reportedly came home for lunch and saw somebody inside their home.

Officers contacted the suspect, who armed herself with a hammer, and got onto the roof. Negotiators tried to get her off the roof, but she climbed onto a pole and tried to go across a cable line.

The suspect then lost her grip and fell. She was taken to a local hospital for her injuries. Officials are referring charges of burglary, criminal property damage, resisting arrest by refusal to comply and disorderly conduct…
