Man sentenced to prison for attempted murder in Sylvania Township double shooting

TOLEDO, Ohio — The man convicted of shooting two men inside a Sylvania Township home last year was sentenced to prison Wednesday.

Sean Landis, 53, of New Jersey, was sentenced to at least 58 years in prison after being found guilty by a jury in March in Lucas County Common Pleas Court of two counts of attempted murder, multiple counts of felonious assault, aggravated burglary and tampering with evidence in the Sept. 9, 2024, shooting.

The victims, Zachary Hutchings and Christophe Diezma, became emotional during their statements and asked the judge for the maximum sentence possible. Diezma described Landis as a “very, very dangerous man.”…
