Black-owned businesses seem to be popping all over Charlotte, and recently, a handful of openings and announcements landed in the area.
Here’s a look at five new businesses that opened so far in 2025, plus one that’s opening soon:
1. Teranga City Charlotte
Opened: March 21 (soft opening)
Location: Uptown near Bank of America Stadium
Teranga City Charlotte opened in Uptown last month. The restaurant offers indoor and patio dining. Teranga, a Senegalese word that references good hospitality, represents the restaurant’s mission to be a gathering space.
