Man arrested in girlfriend’s stabbing after standoff at Kenner apartments, police say

An argument between a couple in Kenner turned violent Wednesday night when a man stabbed his girlfriend several times in the face and neck, according to authorities.

The victim, a 40-year-old woman, was taken to a hospital in stable condition and is expected to survive, according to Deputy Chief Mark McCormick of the Kenner Police Department.

Her boyfriend, 21-year-old Junior Carrasco, was arrested and booked with attempted first-degree murder following a three-hour standoff, according to jail records.

The stabbing occurred about 10 p.m. in the 4300 block of Williams Boulevard in Kenner. Carrasco and his girlfriend began arguing, though it’s not clear what started the disagreement…
