Relay for Life crew preps for 34th year of running in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The annual Relay for Life event is coming back to the Kern County Fairgrounds on May 3.

The theme for 2025 is “Don’t Stop Believing in a Cure, Back to the 80’s,” and organizers say the event will include raffles, games, a lip sync battle, kids activities, the survivor ceremony, food trucks and more.

An additional event, Cars vs. Cancer is also happening May 3, as a part of Relay for Life. It is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The first 10 cars registered will receive a plaque, according to organizers.

Organizers of the event hope to raise $500,000 and have already raised $155,000…
