Corpus Christi councilwoman’s legal action shifts from federal to state courts

Legal action by a City Council member against a local broadcast station and the city of Corpus Christi has shifted from the federal system to the state.

The requests for a temporary restraining order, an injunction and depositions are centered around the publication of “private details of Petitioner’s health information,” according to court records filed by attorney Matt Manning, who is representing City Councilwoman Sylvia Campos.

In part, the requested legal action asks that a story related to a human resources investigation, published by KRIS TV late last week, be taken off the station’s websites and, separately, for the city to remove from its site a statement in response to the story, posted on the same day as the KRIS TV publication…
