‘Mandatory’ evacuation orders issued for areas of Shelbyville and Shelby County

With significant flooding expected to occur over the weekend, the City of Shelbyville and Shelby County have issued an evacuation order for anyone living in low-lying and areas prone to flooding.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration forecasted this area to be hit with major flooding and conditions are expected to worsen as the weekend progresses. The City of Shelbyville is about 30 minutes southeast of Indianapolis.
