On Thursday, the city marked its 7th homicide for the year. A man, whose name is yet to be released, was found bleeding and unconscious in a parking lot at 1700 Block of Berryessa Road. Emergency services tried to save him, but he succumbed to at least one gunshot wound, as confirmed by medical staff at a local hospital.
The San José Police Department (SJPD) is actively pursuing leads in what is now a homicide investigation. According to the police department, the suspect had fled the area when officers arrived.
