San Jose Hits 7th Homicide of the Year, Police Seek Public’s Help Following Berryessa Road Shooting

On Thursday, the city marked its 7th homicide for the year. A man, whose name is yet to be released, was found bleeding and unconscious in a parking lot at 1700 Block of Berryessa Road. Emergency services tried to save him, but he succumbed to at least one gunshot wound, as confirmed by medical staff at a local hospital.

The San José Police Department (SJPD) is actively pursuing leads in what is now a homicide investigation. According to the police department, the suspect had fled the area when officers arrived. The lack of eyewitnesses at the late hour contributes to the uncertainty and urgency surrounding the case. The incident has prompted the SJPD Homicide Unit to seek assistance from the public.
