Ban on outdoor camping on public land goes to council

The persistent problem of homeless people camping, sleeping, sitting and standing on public property is addressed in a proposed second reading and adoption on an ordinance that goes before the Westminster City Council when it meets on Wednesday.

Under the amended ordinance, regulations will be established on unlawful camping and prohibiting the use of the public right-of-way and facilities for storage of personal items or as a place to sit, sleep or lie down.

If approved , it would go into effect in 30 days…
