On the evening of Thursday, a 42-year-old woman was shot and later found at an Atlanta Fire Rescue station with a gunshot wound to her chest. The Atlanta Police Department reported that officers arrived on scene around 8:51 p.m. after being alerted to the incident. The victim, who was conscious and breathing, received prompt transportation to a hospital for treatment.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear, but it is known that the event took place at 1469 Campbellton Road SW. In an effort to quickly secure medical help, the woman managed to self-transport herself to AFRD Station 14 at 1203 Lee Street SW. The investigators are now trying to piece together what led to this violent act.
