Seattle Police Crack Down in Chinatown-International District, 11 Arrests, Narcotics Seized

Seattle Police Department’s recent operation in the Chinatown-International District has culminated in 11 arrests, with a notable seizure of narcotics and related paraphernalia. The operation, which took place on April 3 near 12th Avenue South and South Jackson Street, enlisted the Downtown Activation Team and officers from various units in a bid to enhance neighborhood safety.

According to the SPD Blotter, one of the incidents involved a 57-year-old woman whose loud Michael Jackson music caught the attention of bike-patrol officers. Parked in a known hot spot for drug activity, the woman initially claimed she was awaiting a friend. The scene took a turn when the officers uncovered not only a bottle of tequila but also a glass pipe and foil with suspicious contents within her vehicle.

“What the pipe is for? You know what the pipe is for,” the woman retorted when questioned about the drug paraphernalia, the SPD Blotter reports. She was subjected to field sobriety tests before being arrested for Physical Control While Intoxicated – DUI-Drugs, yet claimed the foil-wrapped substance was merely a ground find.
