Man sentenced to 15 years for Northeast DC killing

WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — A 21-year-old man will spend the next 15 years in federal prison for fatally shooting a man in Northeast D.C., the United States Attorney’s Office (USAO) for the District of Columbia announced Friday.

Shannon Updike, of Washington D.C., pled guilty in December 2024 to one count of second-degree murder while armed.
