FLOODING RISK
After multiple days of heavy rain, widespread flooding continues across central and southern Indiana. The Flood Watch remains in effect through Sunday morning, but even after the watch expires, the flooding risk is far from over. Major rivers across the region are still rising and will likely remain in moderate to major flood stage into the upcoming week, especially in south-central Indiana where the heaviest rainfall occurred.
While tonight’s rain won’t be as intense as previous rounds, even light to moderate rainfall will run off quickly due to saturated soils. Flash flooding isn’t as likely now as it was Friday night, but low-lying areas and smaller streams will continue to deal with ponding and flooding issues. Those near flood-prone…..
