In Memphis, Tennessee, a male was captured on camera at 5192 South Third Street striking a dog in the backseat of a vehicle less than two weeks ago. The video showed the male beating the puppy as she cried out in sheer fright and pain. The suspect had been reported leaving the scene with the dog in a white Kia.
According to social media conversations, the male had been beating the 8-month-old puppy because she had eaten part of his pizza. That same afternoon, the Memphis Police Department launched an investigation in conjunction with Memphis Animal Services, and by the following day determined the identity of the man allegedly responsible for the animal cruelty.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Justin Johnson, 34; he is being accused of Aggravated Animal Cruelty.
A member of Johnson’s family surrendered the puppy to Tails of Hope Dog Rescue where the pup named Brixleigh was immediately transferred to Bluff City Veterinary Specialists. Her bloodwork came back testing positive fro Ehrlichia and Anaplasma (tickborne diseases)…
