Eight Charged in Connection with Violent Carjacking and Shooting Spree in Philadelphia, Norristown, and Whitemarsh

Eight individuals have been charged in relation to a series of audacious carjackings and shootings stretching across Philadelphia, Norristown, and Whitemarsh, says a recent statement from the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office. The arrests came after an operation that saw extensive collaboration between multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Norristown Police Department and the ATF.

The accused, identified by authorities, encompass Anthony Lamont Bell, 19; Micus Golson, 17; Drehcir Brown, 18; David Anthony Demko Jr., 23; Elija Collazo Jr., 23; Victor Bell Jr., 20; Xavier Fuentes, 20, all hailing from Norristown; and Jhalil Allen, 26, of Philadelphia. Their charges include Robbery of a Motor Vehicle, Robbery, and Aggravated Assault, among others. It was a piece of social media bravado that first put law enforcement on the trail of at least one suspect, Anthony Bell, when he seemingly posted a video to a an account from inside a stolen Chevrolet Cruze.

The crime spree quite possibly peaked with a shooting in Norristown on January 28, 2025, where the suspects allegedly used a carjacked Silver Infiniti QX80 in a shooting detected by ShotSpotter technology. This incident led to a chase involving another carjacked vehicle, a white Chevrolet pick-up truck.
