Albany woman charged with vehicular assault

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Albany Police made an arrest on Sunday after an assault investigation. Emoni Ellison, 23, of Albany, faces multiple charges.

On April 6 around 7:35 p.m., police responded to a home on Jennings Drive near Rooney Road for reports of someone being hit by a car. Officers arriving to the area found a 29-year-old woman with a serious leg injury.

The victim was tended to by emergency responders before being taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment. Police stated the woman is currently listed in stable condition.

Further investigation revealed that Ellison allegedly hit the victim with her car intentionally. She was taken into custody at the scene and was charged with second-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and leaving the scene of a personal injury auto accident.

Ellison was released under Albany County Probation’s supervision after being arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court on Monday morning…
