Ocala man trying to catch some rays on Ormond Beach gets run over by Jeep instead

A woman in a Jeep ran over an Ocala man on Ormond Beach on Saturday after driving outside of the travel lanes to back into a parking spot, according to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office .

The man, 33, was in stable condition but had injuries to his thigh and arm. He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The incident happened about 10:43 a.m. near the Cardinal Drive beach ramp.

Authorities cited the woman, 61, of Ormond Beach, with careless driving, according to the Sheriff’s Office. She stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation and had no signs of impairment…
