TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A radar-confirmed tornado twisted strong gusts through the Killearn Lakes community early Monday, leaving one Tallahassee family with a tree in their bedroom.
Neighbors said that when the wind began to pick up Monday, the situation escalated pretty quickly. The tornado – which the National Weather Service will likely survey in the next few days – left multiple trees snapped in half and launched debris into the sky.
Resident Kelli Stannard said she had a large window in her bedroom, so during the thunderstorm, she moved closer to the center of the house to seek shelter. She still felt vulnerable with so many trees around the house.
And then, in the span of a few seconds, a tree crashed through her bedroom window…
