Happy Monday! We started the morning below freezing in Springfield with frost all around the Ozarks. The cold gave way to a beautiful April day, and it was dry. This was the first day since Tuesday of last week where we had no wet weather impacting the area. The overall pattern is a much quieter one through the upcoming weekend.

Another Feeze warning has been issued for Tuesday morning. Temperatures will dip below freezing, ranging from the upper 20s to the low 30s. This will be cold enough to damage tender vegetation (so stay vigilant and keep your cold-sensitive plants protected), but many plants should weather the cold just fine.
Tuesday morning’s frost will give way to another beautifully bright day with a fresh feel as temperatures climb into the 60s.
The pattern has shifted in a significant way this week with no big storms impacting the region. There will be a moisture-starved storm moving through the region Wednesday and Thursday.
A weak cold front Wednesday will slide through the Ozarks and we may be able to squeak out a stray shower closer to the St. Louis area Wednesday afternoon. Thursday will offer up a better chance for some pop-up showers and isolated thunderstorms, mainly east of Hwy. 65 during the heat of the afternoon. Even then, rain will be spotty with most areas remaining dry. Good news after the rain we’ve seen recently!
We’ll be slightly cooler on Friday, with clouds developing by afternoon. A sprinkle or two is possible, but most areas will remain dry.
The weekend is shaping up to be fantastic! Saturday promises sunnier skies and warmer temperatures with highs near 80° Sunday…
