Dog dies in fire at north Fort Wayne home

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A dog died Tuesday afternoon in a fire on Fort Wayne’s north side.

Crews from Grabill and Huntertown responded shortly after 12:30 p.m. to a home on Green Holly Cove, off Lima and Carroll roads. The fire appeared to destroy the second story of the house.

An official at the scene confirmed neighbors saw the fire and reported it. A dog that was inside the home died before firefighters could rescue them. Nobody else was injured.
