A Tennessee man has learned his fate after admitting to the murder of a 22-year-old college student who refused to hand over his iPad passcode in a terrifying home invasion.

On Monday, April 7, Rainess Holmes, 40, was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in connection with the 2021 shooting death of Andrew Rainer in Memphis, the Shelby County District Attorney said in a statement.

Holmes also pleaded guilty in three separate aggravated burglary cases, and was sentenced to three years in prison on each of those counts, to run concurrently…
