Astronaut Jeanette Epps brings her stellar experiences to central New York students

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — You can call it a stellar homecoming for Jeanette Epps, as the local NASA astronaut returned to her alma mater, Corcoran High School, for a special event highlighting her most recent trip to the International Space Station.

“What an honor…it is very humbling to come back to your hometown and receive a welcoming like that,” said Epps as she addressed an auditorium full of students and faculty.

Dr. Epps is a Syracuse native and graduated from Thomas J. Corcoran High School in 1988. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Physics from LeMoyne College in 1992 and her Master of Science and Doctorate of Philosophy in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland in 1994 and 2000…
