On April 14, 2024, a fire destroyed a commercial building in downtown Snoqualmie, displacing several small businesses, including Chickadee Bakeshop, Littlest Wishes photo studio, and Snoqualmie Ice Cream. Snoqualmie Police Officer Corey Hendricks reported the fire during his early morning patrol, leaving the building a total loss.
Almost a year later, Chickadee Bakeshop & Snoqualmie Pie Co. is still working to rebuild—and they need the help of a community that’s been part of their story from the beginning.
“What was once a warm and welcoming space, filled with the aroma of freshly baked treats, is now nothing but ashes and memories,” say owners Katie and Dorie.
Their journey to opening has already been filled with obstacles. After securing the lease in the former Café Minee space, they poured time and resources into completing the buildout. “We want to take a moment to recognize and express our deepest gratitude to the amazing construction vendors and suppliers who helped bring our vision to life.” However, delays and rising costs forced them to reallocate funds originally intended for baking equipment…
