SALEM, Ore. (KPTV) – A new bill would ban the use of cell phones for students in all Oregon schools.
House Bill 2251 would ban students from using their cell phones for the entire school day, that includes during passing periods and lunch. Right now, the bill has support from the House Education Committee.
Some school districts, like Portland Public Schools, already have their own cell phone bans but this would make a ban statewide. It would also require districts to list what consequences students would face if they do not comply with the ban…
