Valparaiso, IN – Two Arrested After Argument Leads to Gunfire

A disturbance early this morning in Valparaiso led to the arrest of two men following a confrontation that involved gunfire. Police responded to a call near the intersection of Garfield Avenue and Union Street, where a man was found sleeping in a vehicle that did not belong to him.

The situation escalated when an argument broke out between the two male subjects, one of whom allegedly fired a weapon at the other. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported. Both individuals were taken into custody and transported to the Valparaiso Police Department for questioning.

According to the Valparaiso Police Department, Gonzalo Gonzales Jr. (61) of Hobart was arrested on a charge of Unlawful Entry in a Motor Vehicle, while David Laneve (58) of Valparaiso faces charges of Criminal Recklessness and Pointing a Firearm.
