Several Alabama rivers rise to potential flood levels

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – As a deadly storm system brings flooding to states across the Midwest and south, several local bodies of water in Alabama have risen to potential flood levels.

The Alabama River at Montgomery is expected to rise Tuesday evening to 35 feet – minor flood stage – before falling back to 25 feet by Saturday.

The Tallapoosa River at the Tallapoosa Water Plant is currently at 26.54 feet and is expected to rise Wednesday morning to 28.60 feet. This will create a potential threat for flooding…
