Firefighters rescued two dogs after a blaze broke out at a home in The Villages.
The Villages Public Safety Department responded at 7:16 a.m. Monday to a home in the 900 block of Akin Way in the Village of Chitty Chatty.
Dispatch initially had advised that there were three people and animals trapped inside the residence.
Upon arrival, members of The Villages Public Safety Department spotted smoke showing from the soffits. The first units on the scene, Medic 47, and Engine 47, made forcible entry into the house via the front door to conduct a primary search for the people and animals and to extinguish the fire.
“The primary search revealed no occupants; however, crews did rescue two dogs from the home. The fire was found to be in the master bedroom of the house, and due to the quick response from crews, they were able to contain the fire to the master bedroom,” said Deputy Chief of Operations Robert Ramage…
