MAUMEE, Ohio — A pointed “Shut up!” popped out during a Maumee City Council meeting on Monday in a sign of the boiling pot of emotions that has come to dominate discourse between city leadership and disgruntled residents.
Council member Ted Kurt, one of the multiple city officials whose job will be on the line in a September recall election, said during the meeting he initially wasn’t planning to speak on the issue, but decided to anyway.
