Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 43-year-old man, identified as Melvin Jackson, which occurred at 2599 Wheeler Avenue last Friday afternoon.
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the location around 2:35 p.m. and discovered Mr. Jackson unresponsive with a gunshot wound in the roadway. Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived and pronounced him deceased at the scene.
