Florida woman buys $20 scratch-off at Publix, wins $5 million

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A woman in Charlotte County is a multi-millionaire after she bought a winning scratch-off ticket at a Publix.

The Florida Lottery announced that Gerry Collins of Port Charlotte claimed a $5 million prize from THE PERFECT GIFT scratch-off game at the Lottery’s Fort Myers District Office. She chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $2,989,062.
