LANSING, MI (WTVB)- Hundreds of Michigan households are in jeopardy of losing their rental assistance as a federal pandemic housing program is beginning to run out of money.
The Housing Choice Voucher Program helps low-income families, the elderly, and disabled be able afford housing. The $5 billion program was supposed to provide aid until 2030, but The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) expects cash will run out by the middle of 2026.
