JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – The Jackson Municipal Airport Authority (JMAA) and Southwest Airlines welcomed passengers on the inaugural nonstop flight to Nashville on April 8.
The theme was “Blues and Boots” in honor of the musical heritage of both Jackson and Nashville. City and state leaders gathered to cut the ribbon while guests were treated to live music and refreshments. Passengers from Nashville were greeted by cheerleaders from Callaway High School.

Rhonda Scott, with Southwest Airlines, believes this first flight will open the doors for more international travel out of Jackson.
