STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — At a time when residents want to ensure their safety when using Staten Island parks, the Advance/SILive.com has learned Gateway National Recreation Area’s Great Kills Park has been devoid of park rangers for a significant period of time.
Park safety has been on the forefront of residents’ minds following an attempted rape in the city-run Silver Lake Park in early April.
