Joliet, IL – A traffic crash on Essington Road claimed the life of a 77-year-old woman this morning, with two vehicles involved in a collision near the intersection of Essington Road and Caton Farm Road.
At 7:44 a.m. on April 9, 2025, Joliet police responded to the crash scene where preliminary investigations revealed that a Buick Enclave, driven by a 71-year-old man from Joliet, was traveling northbound on Essington Road. The vehicle was turning left onto westbound Caton Farm Road when it was struck on the passenger side by a southbound Ford F-150 driven by a 19-year-old man from Crest Hill.
Both drivers sustained minor injuries and were transported to St. Joseph Medical Center by the Joliet Fire Department. Unfortunately, the 77-year-old female passenger in the Buick was pronounced dead at the hospital…
