FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – After a three-year process, a new burial option for Indiana veterans is set to become a reality at the Veterans National Shrine and Museum on O’Day Road.
Vice Commander Eric Johnson shared that the community has been eagerly awaiting this new addition, which will provide a much-needed final resting place for local veterans.
The new burial option will be a columbarium, an above-ground structure designed to store cremation urns and personal mementos. Johnson says this will offer veterans and their families an alternative to traditional burial methods…
