SPARTANBURG, S.C. – New technology is helping the Spartanburg Police Department crack down on a common crime in the city.
Every day Jeremy Drake, senior patrol officer for the Spartanburg police, comes across hundreds of vehicles as he patrols the roadways for stolen tags, stolen vehicles or vehicles registered to a wanted person. A new tool under his belt has made catching these crimes easier.
“It is more or less a mobile license plate reader, where we are able to get real time feedback on stolen cars, stolen tags, wanted subjects that may be registered to that particular vehicle,” Drake said…
