Santa Barbara County District Attorney John T. Savrnoch announced [this week] that former Santa Maria resident Jamie Cid has been charged with Murder in connection with the March 9, 2021, stabbing death of Raymond Earl Smith.
Jaime Cid stands charged with one count of Murder, a violation of Penal Code Section 187(a), and with the personal use of a knife during the commission of this Murder, a violation of Penal Code Section 12022(b)(1). Furthermore, it is alleged that Jamie Cid has suffered two prior felony strike convictions under California’s three-strikes law.
Jamie Cid was arraigned on these charges [Monday] in Department 9 of the Santa Maria division of the Santa Barbara County Superior Court. The defendant entered a not guilty plea to the charged offense and denied all special allegations. Jaime Cid is behind held in custody on $1,000,000 bail…
