Man fleeing police passes school bus on sidewalk, crashes before arrest, police say

A 38-year-old man who police said led them on a brief chase − including driving on a sidewalk to pass a school bus that was letting children off − before crashing Tuesday afternoon has been arrested on numerous drug and other charges.

The incident began about 4:30 p.m. when New Castle County Police tried to stop the man, who was driving a Honda Civic on Locust Avenue in Elsmere. County police said officers were conducting a drug investigation in the town.
