City of Omaha announces plans for $45 million sports, activities complex at Levi Carter Park

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The City of Omaha is just weeks away from starting the construction of a 100,000 square-foot, $45 million activities and sports complex.

A ceremonial groundbreaking was held Wednesday afternoon at Levi Carter Park, with Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen and Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert in attendance.

The new complex will have the largest basketball facility in Omaha, with 10 indoor courts that can be converted to 14 volleyball courts. The building will also feature a classroom for distance learning, medical exam and telehealth rooms, as well as a community meeting space, a fitness area, and a wrestling room…
