A call was made around 12 p.m. on April 8 to Longmont Public Safety reporting a serious accident on Hover Street between Nelson Road and Clover Basin Drive. According to Longmont’s public information officer, Rogelio Mares, a motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Hover Street near Trade Centre Avenue and was struck by a pickup truck traveling northbound on Hover Street. The truck was attempting to turn left at Trade Centre Avenue.
The motorcyclist was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. They were wearing a helmet, which Mares said “likely saved their life.” The motorcyclist was transported with serious, but not life-threatening injuries to an unspecified hospital. The condition of the pickup truck driver after the crash was not specified.
