Details emerge after Antioch toddler dies in accidental shooting at home

ANTIOCH, Calif. (KRON) — An Antioch neighborhood is mourning the death of a 3-year-old child who was killed in an accidental shooting. The toddler died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Tuesday, a 911 caller told the Antioch Police Department.

The toddler was in a house on Clearbrook Road near Lone Tree Way when he somehow accessed a loaded gun, police said. Someone called 911 at 6 p.m. Tuesday “reporting that a three-year-old had suffered a self-inflicted gunshot,” APD Lt. Whitaker wrote.

Neighbors told KRON4 that the boy frequently stayed in the house with his grandparents on weekdays, and his mother picked him up on Fridays…
