( KRON ) — The Newark Police Department said it has made an arrest in a series of drive-by shootings that began last December.

Police said Xavier Medina, 19, of Newark, was charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling, and committing a felony while on bail.
Newark PD said there were three consecutive drive-by shootings on Dec. 20, 2024 which started in Union City and culminated with back-to-back shootings in Newark — one on Arrowhead Place and another on Noel Avenue. Police said an individual sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound in the Noel Avenue incident.
