This EDGE District food truck crafts one of the best burgers in St. Pete

There have been a slew of headline restaurant openings in St. Pete this year, but sometimes it’s the new spots that fly under the radar where you can find the best eats. Offset Sandwich Exchange has become a quick star in the EDGE District since becoming a permanent weekend fixture next to the beer garden at Green Bench Brewing Co.

To be fair, Offset isn’t “new,” as the gourmet sandwich concept has been going strong for well over two years now. The pop-up/food truck developed a following in its early days, but since taking over at Green Bench every Wednesday-Sunday at the end of 2024, they have become fast favorites among neighborhood residents and visiting beer guzzlers alike.

Inviting diners to “experience the divine art of sandwich making,” Offset delivers on the promise with truly heavenly sandwiches, from their Korean fried chicken sandwich and overflowing hoagies to the tantalizing caprese sandwiches and sizzling burgers.

And those burgers, it has become clear, are the breakout star, as Offset sold more than 2,000 of their signature smash burgers within barely two months of being open. We haven’t seen any updates, but based on the numbers of crispy, flavorful, melted-cheese-covered patties we see coming out of the window every Saturday, they are almost certainly beyond 5K sold. Not bad for a hidden gem weekend pop-up.

To be sure, the sandwiches and burgers on their own are enough to make the food truck stand out, but Offset also delivers the ultimate in comfort food with delicious sides, rotating deep-fried specials, and some impressively decadent dessert offerings when the occasion calls for it. Recent specials include handmade Reuben egg rolls for St. Pat’s, and cheesecake tarts as part of their Galentine’s lineup…
