JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Another major hurdle has been cleared to bring down an eyesore former hotel next to the Mississippi State Fairgrounds.
This week, Jackson Municipal Court Judge Jeffrey Reynolds signed an order allowing state workers to enter the facility to test for asbestos.
The state is expected to take over ownership of the building by June 27, and the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) requires asbestos testing before it can be torn down…
