Virginia – A Virginia couple were taken into custody following a concerning incident at their child’s eIementary schooI.According to Virginia authorities, their child had brought an unsecured firearm from their home to school, resulting in the firearm accidentally discharging inside a cIassroom filled with students. Fortunately, no injuries occurred.
Both parents, 36-year-old Clara and 34-year-old Terence, were charged with reckIessly leaving a Ioaded, unsecured firearm, endangering a child under 14, and willfully or negligently causing or permitting their child’s life to be endangered. Each was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 11, 2025.
At approximately 10:50 a.m., the child reached into his backpack at school and inadvertently discharged the firearm. The child’s educator promptly evacuated all students and notified the school resource officer.
