DC officer placed on ‘non-contact status’ after Prince George’s County traffic stop

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — A Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officer has been placed on “non-contact status” after an April 2 traffic stop in Prince George’s County, according to MPD.

Maleek Loggins, who has been with MPD since 2023, has been charged with consuming alcoholic beverages and possessing cannabis in the passenger area of a motor vehicle on a highway, according to the Maryland Court Database

MPD states that Loggins has been placed on non-contact status, meaning he is still employed but his powers have been revoked and his contact with the public is restricted.
