Arrest made in ‘road rage’ shooting on Livermore road

Livermore police arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder for the shooting of a motorist last month they described Thursday as a “road rage” case.

Demarionte Smith, of Oakley, was arrested April 1 in Seattle with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force, according to police. Police said investigators believe Smith fled to Seattle to stay with family members following the March 11 shooting.
